Explore Tanzania’s wilderness high spots on this exhilarating 12-day/10-night safari. Enjoy wonderful Elephant and bird watching in Tarangire National Park, game viewing in the Serengeti National Park and magnificent views of Ngorongoro Crater from your sumptuous suite at the award-winning Ngorongoro Crater Lodge. This safari can be combined with 3 or 4 nights Zanzibar Island.
Day 1 - Arusha - Mountain Village Lodge
Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, met by To Africa Tours & Safaris representative. Transfer to your hotel. Overnight at Mountain Village Lodge (DBB).
Day 2 - Tarangire - Kikoti Tented Camp
After breakfast, drive to Kikoti Camp with a lovely hilltop location on a private concession area adjacent to Tarangire National Park, game-viewing en-route. A beautiful park with indigenous woodlands and grasslands interspersed with gigantic baobab trees, Tarangire is rich in game particularly in the dry season between August and November when game migrates into Tarangire to feed on the grass and permanent rivers. You will enjoy extended game drives in Tarangire. Meals and overnight at Kikoti Tented Camp (LDBB).
Day 3 - Tarangire - Kikoti Tented Camp
Whole day in Tarangire with morning and afternoon game drives. Meals and overnight at Kikoti Tented Camp (LDBB).
Day 4 - Ngorongoro Conservation Area - Ngorongoro Serena Lodge
After a relaxed breakfast, we head for the awesome Ngorongoro Crater to arrive for lunch at your lodge. Today we relax and absorb the stunning scenery of this natural wonder. Meals and overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge (LDBB).
Day 5 - Ngorongoro Conservation Area - Ngorongoro Serena Lodge
After breakfast, depart for half day game drive on the crater floor, which contains the highest density of wildlife anywhere in Africa, returning to the lodge for lunch. Afternoon at leisure enjoying the magnificent view of the crater from your lodge. Meals and overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge (LDBB).
Day 6 - Ngorongoro Conservation Area - Ngorongoro Serena Lodge
After breakfast, depart for morning game drive on the crater floor, returning to your lodge for lunch. Afternoon at leisure. Meals and overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge (LDBB).
Day 7 - Serengeti National Park - Serengeti Serena Lodge
After a relaxed breakfast, we drive to the pre-historic site of Olduvai Gorge, before heading for central Serengeti. After lunch at the lodge, we conduct an evening game. Meals and overnight at Serengeti Serena Lodge (LDBB).
Day 8 - Serengeti National Park - Serengeti Serena Lodge
Full day game drive in the Serengeti. Meals and overnight at Serengeti Serena Lodge (LDBB).
Day 9 - Serengeti National Park - Serengeti Serena Lodge
Full day game drives in the Serengeti. Meals and overnight at Serengeti Serena Lodge (LDBB).
Day 10 - Serengeti National Park - Mbalageti Tented Chalets
After breakfast, we drive to the western corridor of Serengeti. Here Grumeti and Mbalageti Rivers and their several by waters provide a different perspective on wildlife interactions. Here hundreds of huge Nile crocodiles lie patiently in wait for the wildebeest migration to arrive between June and July. When it does, and the wildebeest river crossings begin, the rivers provide perhaps the most vicious wildlife encounters in Africa. Arrive for lunch at your tented Camp. Afternoon game drive.
Meals and overnight at Mbalageti Tented Chalets (LDBB).
Day 11 - Serengeti National Park - Mbalageti Tented Chalets
Full day game drives in the Serengeti. Meals and overnight at Mbalageti Tented Chalets (LDBB).
Day 12 - Depart
After breakfast, drive to the local airstrip for your flight from Grumeti to Arusha. Lunch has been reserved for you at a hotel. In the evening transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport for your flight home
