7 DAY / 6 NIGHT SOUTH LUANGWA WALKING SAFARI

Experience Zambia’s magnificent Luangwa Valley, boasting a great diversity of game and birdlife, on this traditional 7-day/6-night bushcamp safari. Enjoy 3 nights at Mfuwe Lodge and the other 3 nights on walking safari and stay at any of the five bush camps-Kuyenda, Chamilandu, Chindeni, Bilinmungwe, Kapamba- and explore the wilderness on daily bush walks and morning and night game drives.

DAy 1  & 2               Lusaka  – South Luangwa National Park
From Lusaka Airport fly with Zambian Airways to the South Luangwa National Park where you are met and transfer to Mfuwe Lodge.

This is a unique lodge situated in the South Luangwa National Park with 18 luxury en-suite thatched chalets, each with a private decking area that overlooks a lagoon that attracts abundant wildlife and game from the African bush. Game activity at the lagoon continues day and night as breeding herds in abundance come out of the bush to the water to quench their thirst

Each chalet is decorated with superb attention to detail and is equipped with everything from refrigerator to shampoo and mosquito repellent Each sunken bath has its own private view of the lagoon. What better way to relax and forget the pressures of city life than to soak in the sights and sounds of the African bush

Game drives and walks are conducted by an experienced and knowledgeable team of guides. Guests set off at first light or in the late afternoon when the wildlife is most active.

For quieter moments the nature conservation library with its own deck shaded with giant ebony trees, offers a unique collection of antiquarian books and modern reference material

Day 3,4 & 5          Walking Safari
 
On this 3 day walking safari will stay in any of the 5 exclusive bush camps (Kuyenda, Chamilandu, Chindeni, Bilinmungwe, Kapamba) in one of the last unspoilt wilderness areas of Africa, the South Luangwa National Park. These remote camps offer an unmatched wilderness experience where the African walking safari was pioneered. The camps are ideal for those seeking a remote bush experience coupled with great hospitality and spectacular opportunities to explore. The camps all offer elegant and tastefully decorated chalets/tents all en suite with shower and toilets.

Day 6                      Mfuwe Lodge
After a final day in the bush we bring you back to Mfuwe Lodge for your last night in the Luangwa Valley

Day 7                      Depart
Later this morning transfer to Mfuwe Airstrip for your Air Zambia flight back to Lusaka where you connect onward to your next destination (B)

Note: The lower Zambezi & South Luangwa Camps close during the rainy season from mid November to end May each year.
